FAQ's

What makes you different than any other dental practice I can visit?

As a progressive dental office, we deliver dental care that must be experienced to be believed. Our commitment to our patients is complete and unwavering, and we consider it a privilege and honor to treat you. From beginning to end, the experience at Rossview Dental is unparalleled. Why? Because we don't treat teeth, we treat people. We look forward to you experiencing it for yourself! To learn more about who we are please read "Our Values."

What is done during a regular oral exam?

One of our staff members will compile your medical and dental history during your first visit. We will then examine your teeth and gums, screen you for oral cancer, take X-rays of your teeth as needed and complete a TMJ (temporomandibular or jaw joint) exam. We will evaluate your gums and complete a thorough cleaning. If gum disease is present we may need to schedule another appointment to give your smile the appropriate time it deserves.  The doctor will discuss their findings with you. We will discuss your options for treatment and fee payment and help you determine the best plan to fit your needs.

Who is allowed in the back during treatment?

During treatment we only allow the patient in the back. Safety is a priority and having additional persons in the dental operatories is an unnecessary health risk. With the small size of dental operators and the aerosol mist generated during treatment it is best for everyone to only have the patient being treated in the operatory.

Do you treat children?

We enjoy treating patients of all ages. In order to build positive rapport and trust with your child it is our policy to have only the patient in the treatment area. If needed, some patients may be referred to a specialist. For safety reasons, we also ask that no children are in the treatment room while their parent or guardian is being treated.

Do you take my insurance?

For your convenience, we accept a variety of insurance plans. Our staff will go over your insurance benefits with you before we begin any treatment. Your treatment is not dictated on what your insurance will cover.  Together, the dentist and you create your treatment plan based on what your current medical and dental needs are.  We cannot limit your care to just what is covered by your insurance plan.  Every plan is different and each insurance company determines what is covered.  Just because a particular service is not covered does NOT mean you do not need it. We can help you maximize your insurance benefits and will file claims electronically to help speed reimbursement. We believe that financial concerns should never stand in the way of excellent dental care. We are happy to work with you to design a payment plan that fits your personal needs. All major credit cards are welcome and we can even arrange financing with Care Credit to help fit your payments into an affordable plan. How can I safely whiten my teeth?

At our office we offer two methods of whitening your teeth that are both safe and effective. Laser whitening can whiten your teeth up to ten shades lighter. We also offer custom-designed trays for you to use at home, which offers results in about two weeks. The doctor will evaluate the potential for whitening your teeth based on their current color and the causes of any discoloration.

What precautions do you take to ensure patient safety?

Our entire team implements strict sterilization techniques designed for your safety. This goes beyond wearing gloves and face-masks to prevent passing germs and includes a specialized sterilization center that is tested to ensure uncompromised sterilization standards. We use lead aprons and digital radiography - both of which minimize your radiation exposure. We carefully evaluate each patient's medical history and utilize the safest medications for every individual. If needed, the doctor will require a medical consultation for our patients with certain medical conditions.

I want my front teeth to look better, but I do not want to wear braces. What would you recommend?

We have a number of ways to improve the look of your front teeth without the use of braces. For slightly crooked or unevenly worn teeth, a bit of reshaping and the addition of porcelain veneers may be sufficient to give them a bright, uniform look. We would be happy to speak with you further about the option best suiting your individual situation.

If I brush and floss regularly, do I still need to see a dentist?

Definitely! Although brushing and flossing are very important, only a dental professional can clean your teeth as thoroughly as necessary. Plus, they can easily spot and treat gum disease, which results in jaw bone loss.

What is your cancellation policy?

As we reserve time with the dentist for your appointments, it is very important that we receive notice of a change in plans at least 24 hours in advance. This gives us a chance to schedule another patient for that time. Alpha Dental reserves the right to charge a $35 fee for missed appointments. If appointments are missed or cancelled, we reserve the right to no longer pre-schedule further appointments. Please keep in mind that if you have to miss an appointment and don’t give us notice, you might be preventing someone else from getting the care they need as we don’t realize we have an opening. Thank you so much for helping us give our patients the best service possible.

Do you accept referrals?

Most definitely! We believe your referrals are our best compliments, and we welcome your friends and family members.
